Who Is Jesus?

Christians believe Jesus of Nazareth is more than a good teacher or a historical figure. He is God the Son, who entered the world as a real human being — born, tired, hungry, grieving, tempted in every way we are, yet without sin.

He healed the sick, welcomed outsiders, forgave people everyone else had written off, and taught with an authority that unsettled the powerful. When you read the Gospels, you meet someone who is both entirely holy and remarkably approachable.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Why Do We Need Salvation?

The Bible is honest about something we already sense: something is wrong with the world, and something is wrong in us. Scripture calls it sin — not merely breaking rules, but a broken relationship with God that shows up in how we treat each other and ourselves.

This is not said to shame you. It is said because a diagnosis is the beginning of healing. None of us can fix this by trying harder.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

The Cross

Jesus was executed on a Roman cross. Christians believe this was not a tragic accident but a willing sacrifice: He took on Himself what our sin deserved, so that we could be forgiven and brought back to God.

The cross is where God's justice and God's love meet. It says both that sin is serious and that you are deeply loved.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

The Resurrection

Three days later, His followers found the tomb empty and met Him alive. The resurrection is the hinge of the Christian faith: it is God's public verdict that the sacrifice was accepted, that death is not the end, and that hope is not wishful thinking.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

Grace

Grace means God's kindness is a gift, not a wage. You cannot earn it by cleaning yourself up first, and you cannot lose it by being too far gone. You come as you are — and God, in love, does not leave you as you are.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Faith and Repentance

Faith is trusting Jesus with your life, not merely agreeing that He existed. Repentance is turning — a change of mind and direction, away from what harms and toward the One who heals.

Both are ordinary, human, and often gradual. Many people begin with an honest prayer that sounds a lot like, 'Lord, I want to believe. Help me.'

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Following Jesus

Following Jesus is a life, not a moment. It grows through reading Scripture, prayer, and belonging to a local church where real people know you.

We want to be honest with you: becoming a Christian is not a promise of wealth, guaranteed healing, or a life without pain. It is the promise of God's presence, forgiveness, and a hope that outlasts everything.

How Can I Begin?

There are no magic words. You can simply speak to God honestly, in your own language. Many people pray something like this:

"God, I believe Jesus is Your Son. I'm sorry for the ways I've lived apart from You. Thank You for the cross. I'm turning to You, and I want to follow Jesus. Help me. Amen."
